Your Favorite Tea

what drink do you like most

have always been pretty fussy about my coffee shop drinks. A lot of people will find something anywhere they go, but not me. On the one hand, I am not a big fan of the traditional cup of Joe. A cup of coffee to me is a little bit too bitter. I need a little bit more mildness and sweetness to the flavor, or I just can not drink it. I tried adding cream and sugar, and it helps a little bit, but it still doesn't taste good to me. On the other hand, the fancy drinks seem a little bit over the top to me. I don't need half a pound of sugar, 3 feet of cream, and a cherry on top. Tea seems a little bland in general, and I don't like drinking fruit juice. About the only thing that I can always decide on is chai tea. I can't get enough of it.

If you have never tried a good cup of chai tea, I can't recommend it enough. Chai teas are some of the most delicious drinks in the world. Basically, it is a regular old black tea jazzed up in the most spicy, fascinating way. There is cardamom, cinnamon, perhaps some ginger, and a bit of black pepper in it. The spices vary, but everywhere it has an interesting, potent, earthy feel to it. After that, you add a little bit of cream and sugar – or soy milk if you prefer – and you're good to go. You don't even need to make it really sweet. The spices themselves are intoxicating enough that you can get by with only a mild hint of sweetness. Such is the nature of chai tea.

I have found that a lot of people who like green tea like chai tea, yet the two are not very similar. Green teas have a strong, grassy taste to them. Although they are strongly flavored, as is chai tea, the type of flavor is much different. They aren't spicy so much as intensely green and flavorful.
